Miss Teen Queen 2009

After attending the Clothes Show Live in 2008, I was asked to participate in Miss Teen Queen UK 2009, which was the first beauty pageant I became involved in.

On the 13th of August 2009, alongside 39 other beauty hopefuls I was awarded Miss Fake Bake Bikini 2009 which was an amazing achievement in itself, then to my complete surprise I was also crowned Miss Teen Queen UK 2009.

Since then I have had a whirlwind of a year which has included taking part in photo shoots for various sponsors who also provided fantastic prizes. I also went back to the Clothes Show live 2009 representing Miss Teen Queen UK which was a wonderful experience.

In December 2009 I represented England in the Miss Tourism International, which was hosted in Kuala Lumpar, Malaysia . For over 3 weeks I not only had the opportunity to visit lots of wonderful places Malaysia has to offer, but I also met and became friends with 45 beautiful girls from around the world. Being the youngest contestant in the pageant, gave me more confidence, and experience which I will never forget.

I would finally like to wish all the girls taking part in this years final the best of luck and to enjoy their unforgettable moment in the spotlight!

Miss Teen Queen 2007 winner - 1st winner

In 2007, aged 17, I was awarded the title of Miss Teen Queen UK which was held in London.

I was fortunate enough to be given many prizes from a variety of sponsors and went on to represent the UK in Taiwan in Miss Young International 2007. I took part in Miss Young International for over three weeks and visited many beautiful places. It was a surreal experience which I enjoyed very much. I was also excited to be awarded the "Best Skin" title.

Since then I have been very lucky as the opportunities I have been given have enabled me to become involved in many different beauty pageants and fashion shows around the world and meet a variety of wonderful people.

I recently visited Malta to represent Wales in Miss World Bikini/Miss European Tourism 2009. I stayed in the luxury Fortina Spa Hotel and travelled around Malta with over 42 girls taking part in a host of different promotional events and activities including photo shoots in water parks whilst swimming with dolphins and sun set cruises. Whilst there I was lucky enough not only to win Miss Fortina Spa Hotel, which won me a prize of an all inclusive holiday for 2 in the hotel but I also won the title of Miss European Tourism 2009.

When I was approached at the Clothes Show and asked to enter Miss Teen Queen 2007 I had never entered a beauty pageant before or participated in a fashion show. Winning this competition has given me some fantastic opportunities and completely changed my life. As Miss Teen Queen UK I have taken part in fashion shows held at the Clothes Show in Birmingham, taken part in Miss Hawaiian Tropic held in London and my photos from the event appeared in OK magazine and I had many more amazing experiences I could have never dreamt of without taking part In Miss Teen Queen UK.

The winners of this years finals can expect a wonderfully exciting year ahead with lots of fantastic opportunities and prizes.I would advise all the entrants to enjoy every moment in the spotlight as this will be an unforgettable, confidence building experience for them all.

Miss Teen Princess UK 2009

At 15 years of age I won the title of Miss Teen Princess UK 2009. This was my first ever beauty pageant which I entered and I had never experienced anything like it before.

This last year has been a fantastic year and the whole experience since winning has opened up opportunities for me in the modelling world.

I have worked with different labels such as Prom Perfect, Amplified and Vercia which have all been wonderful opportunities and have not only helped me to build up my confidence in modelling, but also to build my portfolio.

Winning the pageant has also given me the opportunity to represent Teen Queen at the Clothes Show Live in Birmingham where I met other teenage hopefuls many of which are here tonight. It has been really positive being a role model to the other girls entering the competition for this year. I was also given the chance to be a judge and represent Teen Queen UK in the search for Miss UKCC (UK Club Culture). My photograph was also used to promote the UKCC competition on all their flyers and on their website.

Since winning the title I feel my confidence has grown and hopefully I will now pursue my dream of becoming a model. I recently won a place in the finals of Miss Princess of the World UK, and much to my amazement, I was a runner up and also won Miss Photogenic. As last years beautiful winner Georgia Smith handed over her Teen Queen UK crown, I had no idea what to expect for my year ahead as Miss Teen Queen UK 2011.

Studying photography and fashion at A level, I had always been so used to the other side of the camera. My first role as Miss Teen Queen UK was to travel down to NW5 studios for a photo shoot with the lovely Miss Teen Princess Connie Veale. Together in our proud sashes and crowns, we did our first shoot for Prom Perfect and publicity shots for promotional boards for our next roles as ambassadors for Teen Queen at the Clothes Show Live in Birmingham. Here I really began to feel so excited and proud of being part of Teen Queen UK. We scouted and introduced new girls into this amazing experience and may have scouted one or two of the girls here tonight.

Starting to model the beautiful gowns from our fantastic sponsor Prom Perfect, I began to feel more confident and used to being that side of the camera, these photo shoots and appearances were building up my confidence to take the next huge step of winning Miss Teen Queen UK and enter into an international pageant where I would not only represent Teen Queen UK and myself, but also my country. Representing England in the Miss European Tourism Beauty 2012 in Romania, was my first experience of an international competition, where I not only competed but unexpectedly came away with the crown! My first taste of competing out of my comfort zone let me experience new cultures and not only an amazing experience, but an amazing set of new friends from all over Europe that I will remain in great contact with.

In this short space of a year I have come away with two winning titles- Miss Teen Queen UkK2011 and Miss European Beauty 2012, for me however, the most precious is Miss Teen Queen UK 2011! This pageant has been able to build my confidence, allowed me to travel and to create contacts and links with friends who have shared experiences I will never forget. Romania for me has opened my eyes to the endless possibilities out there, and I want to take this opportunity to thank so dearly Lina Perrini and the whole Teen Queen UK team for such an amazing year I will never forget.

Finally, I would like to wish all this years contestants GOOD LUCK!

This year has been a year I will certainly never forget. Every little girls dream is to be a princess and have a huge tiara but I never thought that I would ever get the chance. This time last year I was so grateful to even make the final of Miss Teen Princess UK. It was such an amazing experience to meet all of the other amazing girls and get to know them. When it came to the actual pageant in the evening I was so nervous, however when the previous winner Chloe Hill read out my name and handed over her title to me I was so overwhelmed; I never ever thought that I could actually become Miss Teen Princess UK and was so excited and appreciative for the opportunity.

Throughout the year I have grown as a person, the Teen Queen team and whole experience has helped me to grow in confidence and believe in myself much more. It has made me want to reach my goals of becoming a performer or a model and has given me the determination to do so. Winning the title did not really sink in properly until I was stood in front of the camera at NW5 studios with Samantha in our stunning tiaras having our photos for the front of this year's programme and other promotion for the competition. I felt so overwhelmed when I saw these photos on the promotion boards at the Clothes Show Live in Birmingham and Britain's Next Top model Live at the Excel centre. Both of these exhibitions are highlights of my year and days I will never forget.

I loved scouting for new girls at the Clothes Show because I knew exactly how they were feeling and loved filling all the girls with a bit of confidence, just as the competition had done for me. Britain's Next Top Model Live brought back wonderful memories as this is where I had been scouted by Lina and her team the previous year, it was so odd to think a year ago I was the young girl admiring the girls on the boards and now the girl on the board was me!

The experience of every photo shoot was something I will never forget but in particular I enjoyed the shoot for our sponsor Prom Perfect. This gave me the chance to try on beautiful dresses and also show how much I had grown in self-confidence since the semi-final shoot. Another surreal moment was opening my favourite magazines and seeing my face in them, I could not believe that I was in OK magazine with Peter Andre on the front!

I cannot thank the Teen Queen team enough for making me feel so welcome and so comfortable throughout the year and I could also not have done it without the support of my amazing family. I wish all of the girls the best of luck tonight and hope the new Teen Princess has just an amazing year as I have.

Miss Teen Queen UK in 2009

When I entered Miss Teen Queen UK in 2009, the most experience I had was being in front of the camera for holiday snaps and school photo's. The Teen Queen UK competition was an amazing experience, and I was able to use some of the photo's to apply to modelling agencies where I was lucky enough to get a contract. I was apart of the 2010 final, this was the best experience ever, the venue was out of this world and all the girls were so much fun. From start to finish the pageant was great, and despite the pageant being two years ago I am still in touch with lots of the girls. I am so grateful to Teen Queen UK for opening so many doors for me, I now enjoy working part time as a freelance model and still enter pageants (I have the bug) as a hobby.

Teen Queen UK - Confidence boost for teenager

Eve Edmonds aged 14 from SaIisbury
I just wanted to write and say thank you so much to yourself and all the Teen Queen team for giving Eve the opportunity of the casting experience. Even though Eve was not successful in the voting stage, the experience of the other stages has had a profound effect on her.
As I mentioned to you before Eve has sadly experienced a huge amount of bullying in her school life from the tender age of three to until only a year ago! The last episode was very destructive to her confidence and required her to be very strong to get over it all, which she did, but it left a huge dent in her confidence. The casting experience with her photographer/make up artist and the lovely girl who managed everything and everybody, to Stefan, who showed us the photo’s was amazing for her. Her resulting photo’s were stunning and for me to watch how confident she was in front of the camera is something I will never forget! She came alive and loved it all!
We were encouraged to contact modelling agencies from the list given to us, which I did. The very first agency I called, signed her by the time I had sent the photos over!! They were really impressed with her and this has been so very affirming for Eve, she now walks tall and feels a thousand times more confident and happy about herself. She is really looking forward to her first opportunity with the agency.

So again, thank you to you all and we would love it if you could pass on our thanks and news to the other members of your team.

Rebecca Archer has a great day!

Hi Teen Queen

I'm sending this email to give everyone a BIG thank you! I thoroughly enjoyed my day it was much better than expected and everyone was so helpful, nice and lovely! I loved having my hair and make-up done properly and Adam was brilliant in the studio taking photos. He was lovely and helped me through most photos.  I would also like to say a massive thank you to Stefan as he was extremely helpful, my pictures turned out amazing and he helped point me in the right direction with what I wanted to do, which was a big help to me as I wasn't to sure where to start myself out, so he was great! Overall I had a brilliant day at Teen Queen and I think its a brilliant first step for me, so thank you to everyone at the studios for giving me an amazing time and I hope to see you all at the finals! Fingers crossed Rebecca
